Inspired by Arabeaque decorations, in style used by the followers of Raphael, leaves, flowers and inter-twining tendrils are combined with flowing scrolls & curves as used in Italian art & decoration. In addition, the beautiful work to be found in Venetian marquetry helped to create the flowing pattern around the egg. The colours are warm, rich purple, soft reds & green, with delicate gold adding to the italian style.
