Minton Archive Collection Cockerel Majolica Teapot

This Minton Cockeral teapot demonstrates qualities of naturalism, humour & 'fitness for purpose' which was invented by the Victorians. The Cockerel was considered a fitting subject for early morning tea. The cockeral has a open beak which forms the spout. The legs are slightly folded beneath and its feathers are brown and green with green tail feathers forming the handle. A small feather adorns the removable lid.
